Set up EIM registration and identity mapping

Enterprise Identity Mapping (EIM) registration and identity mapping allows users to register with the EIM domain server and manage their identity mappings online.

Before you enable EIM registration and identity mapping, see Interaction with an Enterprise Identity Mapping server for information on how the IBM® Telephone Directory V5.2 application uses EIM and any limitations of EIM integration in the application.

To set up EIM registration and identity mapping, use the IBM Telephone Directory V5.2 administrator pages. Perform the following steps:

  1. Make sure that Enterprise Identity Mapping is set up on your iSeries server.

  2. Make sure EIM properties are configured in the IBM Welcome Page V1.1 application. See Manage Enterprise Identity Mapping (EIM) properties in the Administer IBM Welcome Page V1.1 topic for more information.

  3. Access the IBM Telephone Directory V5.2 administrator pages by entering the following URL in your Web browser:
    http://your.server.name:port/ibm-bizApps/welcome/admin.do

where your.server.name is the name of the server where IBM Telephone Directory V5.2 is installed and port is the port number that was specified during installation.

  4. Click IBM Telephone Directory.

  5. Click the Application Properties tab.

  6. In the Directory access field, make sure Login Enabled or Login Required is selected.

  7. Make sure the Allow users to update and delete entries (requires login) field is checked.

  8. Select the check box next to the EIM registration and identity mapping field.

  9. Click Save Changes.

Users will now be able to register with the EIM domain server and manage their identity mappings online.
