Finding the latest PSP information
Keep informed on the most recent information about conditions that could impede your i5/OS® software installation process.
To verify that you have the PTFs on your system that are required to upgrade to V5R4, review Information APAR II14131 in the preventative service planning information from the Support for IBM System i™
Web page. Select the link for technical databases. These PTFs will be loaded and applied in the steps within Required: Installing the Prepare for Install PTFs for V5R2 and V5R3.
If you are using image catalogs to upgrade, certain PTFs are required. If you using an image catalog to install a more recent update of the same release of i5/OS, for example, you might need to load and apply a certain PTF. This information is part of the steps found in Preparing to upgrade or replace software using an image catalog. Some of these steps need to be performed at least a day before you install the software to ensure that your installation media are ready to use.
