(Enterprise)Manage price lists
A pricing manager creates and manages the price lists that are used for storefront pricing.
- Price lists
A price list is a list of catalog entries with associated prices in one or more currencies. WebSphere Commerce uses price lists in price rules to set prices for catalog entries on the storefront. When you manage your price lists with the Catalog Filter and Pricing tool in Management Center, we can take advantage of many features to implement flexible pricing and simplify maintenance.- File format for uploading price list data
The load file that we use to upload a price list must follow a specific format so that the data loads correctly into the WebSphere Commerce database tables. A sample CSV file is provided.- Creating price lists in CSV format
In a spreadsheet editor, we can create the price list data to upload in CSV format. The easiest way to create this data is to export an existing WebSphere Commerce price list and then replace the data with your new price list data. Alternatively, we can download a sample CSV file to use as a starting point.- Uploading price lists
Use the Price List Upload feature in Management Center to upload offers in a CSV format file into a price list in the WebSphere Commerce database. If the price list does not yet exist, we can create a new, empty price list in Management Center and upload the offers to that price list. Alternatively, we can upload the offers to an existing price list.- Range pricing in price lists
Range pricing is typically used to offer customers a lower price per catalog entry if they purchase a larger quantity of the catalog entry. To specify range pricing, a price list must contain multiple entries for each catalog entry. For each entry, we must specify a minimum quantity and an associated price.- Where to edit prices in Management Center
There are two tools in Management Center that give you the option to manage prices in the default Offer Price and List Price lists: the Catalog Filter and Pricing tool, and the Catalogs tool.- Creating a price list by manually adding catalog entries and prices
As an alternative to uploading a price list, we can add catalog entries to a price list in a Management Center page, and then enter prices in different currencies.- Exporting a price list
We can export any price lists that exist in Management Center. The price list is exported as a CSV (comma-separated value) format file. After exporting the price list, we can use a spreadsheet editor to edit the price list, and then upload the revised price list so that the changes are available to WebSphere Commerce for pricing.
