Hide a category

You can hide a category in the catalog so that it does not display to customers, for example, if the category contains out of season merchandise.


Procedure

  1. Open the WebSphere Commerce Accelerator.

  2. Open the category tree for the master catalog:

    • Click Merchandise > Catalog Management

    • Click Products > Catalog Management

  3. Open the Change Category notebook by highlighting the category that to change, and click Change Category.

  4. The General page displays. Clear the Display to customers check box.

  5. Click OK to hide the category and close the notebook.

  6. Optional: To hide the category in additional store languages:

    1. Click the Select icon.

    2. Change the WebSphere Commerce Accelerator language to the language for which to hide the category. You can switch to a different language only if you are authorized to work with more than one of the WebSphere Commerce supported languages and if the language is available.

    3. Repeat steps 1-5.

    4. Repeat steps a-c for each additional language for which to hide the category.


What to do next

If the changes to the catalog data do not display in the store, the Site Administrator might need to remove the currently cached JSP pages.
