Add a price to a prebuilt kit

A bundle's price is composed by its different catalog entries. When purchased, a bundle is broken down into its separate components, and each catalog entry retains its original price.


Procedure

  1. Find the prebuilt kit to change.

  2. Select the prebuilt kit to add the price and click Prices.

  3. The Pricing page displays. Using the list, select the currency from a list of the store's available currencies.

  4. In the List Price field, add the prebuilt kit list price. The list price may be supplied by the manufacturer and may be set to any value. The list price is used as part of the prebuilt kit description and is not used as the actual price of the prebuilt kit. This field is for catalog display purposes only.

  5. Click Add Price Range.

  6. Define the price range specifications,...

    • Use the list, select the currency from a list of the store's available currencies.

    • Add the prebuilt kit price range for volume pricing in the Range field, to specify a quantity of products for a certain price.

  7. Click OK. Under the Price column of the new price range row, type the price of the prebuilt kit.

  8. To save the new price, click OK.


Results

If a customer is viewing their shopping cart at the time you update the price of a catalog entry that is in their shopping cart, they will continue to see the old price. If they refresh their shopping cart, they will see the updated price for the affected catalog entries, but the total order price may not reflect the new price until the customer either updates their shopping cart, or proceeds to submit their order.
