Add a price to a product

The price for a product becomes the default price for SKUs created from this product. You can add the price of the SKUs individually.


Procedure

  1. Find the product to change.

  2. Select a field in the product row that to change, and from the Prices menu, click Set Prices.

  3. The Product Pricing page displays. Using the list, select the currency from a list of the store's available currencies.

  4. In the List Price field, add the product list price. The list price may be supplied by the manufacturer and may be set to any value. The list price is used as part of the product description and is not used as the actual price of the product. This field is for catalog display purposes only.

  5. Click Add Price Range.

  6. Define the price range specifications,...

    1. Select the currency from a list of the store's available currencies.

    2. Add the product price range for volume pricing in the Range field, to specify a quantity of products for a certain price. You must enter prices greater than 0.00. You cannot enter a price of 0.00.

    3. Repeat steps a. and b. for other currencies, if required.

  7. Click OK. Under the Price column of the new price range row, type the price of the product.

  8. To save the new product price, click OK.


Results

If the changes to the catalog data do not display in the store, the Site Administrator may need to remove the currently cached JSP pages.

If a customer is viewing their shopping cart at the time you update the price of a catalog entry that is in their shopping cart, they will continue to see the old price. If they refresh their shopping cart, they will see the updated price for the affected catalog entries, but the total order price may not reflect the new price until the customer either updates their shopping cart, or proceeds to submit their order.
