Changing a customer's password

If customers have forgotten the logon passwords assigned during registration, you can reset the old passwords to new ones. Note that if no e-mail address is specified during registration, you cannot reset the password for the customer. Also, to reset a password, the system should be configured for messaging.

Procedure

  1. Open the WebSphere Commerce Accelerator.

  2. Find the customer to work with.

  3. From this list, select the check box next to the customer that to work with, and click Reset Password.

  4. To authenticate that you are authorized to change passwords, you are prompted to provide the WebSphere Commerce Accelerator password. This is the same password you used to log onto the WebSphere Commerce Accelerator. The system generates a new password for the customer and e-mails it to the customer's primary e-mail address. If no e-mail address is specified during registration, you cannot reset the password for the customer.
