Marketing component configuration file (wc-admin-component.xml)

The marketing component configuration file (wc-admin-component.xml) contains properties related to configuring and customizing marketing features for Management Center. You can change the properties to suit the site's needs by creating a custom wc-admin-component.xml file that contains the changed properties only.

The marketing component configuration file is stored at this location:

WC_EAR\xml\config\com.ibm.commerce.marketing\wc-admin-component.xml

The marketing component configuration file is divided into several sections, and the file itself contains embedded information and examples for the properties in each section. The following table summarizes the types of configurable properties in the file:

Section of marketing component configuration file Purpose of properties in this section
Test To specify whether elapsed time in the Wait trigger for Dialog activities should be in test mode and the interval to use. For example, you can set the interval to 1 minute so that you do not have to wait for the number of days specified in the Wait trigger when testing the Dialog activity.
Retrive Data To specify the access profiles to use when retrieving categories, catalog entries, and content to display in an e-Marketing Spot on a store page.
Experiments To specify the following for marketing experiments:

  • The default length of a session.

  • The frequency at which the server processes order submit events using the RaiseECEvent scheduled job. Operational marketing statistics are gathered and stored in the database by the RaiseECEvent scheduled job, which is run by the Scheduler at a set interval. By default, this job runs every 5 minutes. If decrease the frequency of this job to reduce any performance impact it might have, you can increase the interval between the jobs. If you change the frequency in the SCHCONFIG table, also change it in the wc-admin-component.xml file. See Statistics considerations.

Send Marketing Triggers To specify the time of day that the SendMarketingTriggers scheduled job processes Dialog activity triggers that get handled once a day, and the number of minutes to wait after a trigger is detected by the successful exit of a controller command.
Cache To specify the names of the marketing cache and the user behavior cache.
View E-Marketing Spot To specify the element template identifier (DMELETEMPLATE_ID from the DMELETEMPLATE database table) of the e-Marketing Spot trigger.
Behavior Rule - Process Command On Exit To specify the following for behavior rules that use controller command matching to determine whether an event has occurred:

  • Controller command names to match.

  • Web application paths to exclude when the controller command is run from that Web application.

  • The command factory used.

Behavior Rule - URL Command To specify URL commands to match for behavior rules.
Behavior Rule - Record Data To specify the following for behavior rules that record data:

  • The element templates for which behavior rule data should not get persisted to the database.

  • The size of user behavior data that gets recorded in memory and is then persisted as a batch.

  • A comma-separated list of properties that contain date or time information.
