Change an asset store product from within an extended sites store
In this step, we will continue to assume the role of Logan, a Category/Product Manager, to change the offer price of an asset store product and create a merchandising association from within the extended sites Sample B2B store.
This step assumes that you have completed the previous step successfully and are still logged into the extended sites Sample B2B Store in the Management Center as Logan. While logged into the Sample B2B Store as Logan, you have the authority to edit asset store objects (such as products) from within the extended sites store.
You have been instructed to make changes to the MP3 CD Changer, Stacatto-1092 in the Extended Sites Catalog Asset Store master catalog. You have also been asked to set up a merchandising association that suggests the High-end GPS system, A00001182 for customers who select the Vehicle DVD system, A00001267.
To change the MP3 CD Changer asset store product from within the Sample B2B Store and create a new merchandising association:
Procedure
- Find the Audio Systems category:
- Select the Master Catalog from the explorer filter.
- Expand the Extended Sites Catalog Asset Store catalog and select the Entertainment\On board computing > Audio Systems category.
- Select the Master Catalog from the explorer filter.
- In the Catalog Entries List view, right-click MP3 CD Changer, A00001092 and click Open to open this product in the product properties page.
- In the Pricing section, place the mouse over the USD editable cell within the Offer Price (Extended Sites Catalog Asset Store) table and click to edit the existing offer price in the Extended Sites Catalog Asset Store.
- Change the offer price from 459.99 to 449.99. Since you changed the offer price in the Offer Price table for the Extended Sites Catalog Asset Store, all extended sites that inherit from this catalog asset store will see the price change.
To create an offer price that will only exist on this extended site (Sample B2B Store), change the offer price in the Offer Price (Sample B2B Store) table.
- Click Save and Close to return to the list of Audio Systems catalog entries.
- In the find area, type A00001267 and click
to search for the Vehicle DVD system product. The Search Results list displays the Vehicle DVD system, A00001267.
- From the Search Results list, right-click Vehicle DVD system, A00001267 and click Open.
- In the Product Properties view for the Vehicle DVD system, A00001267, click the Merchandising Associations tab.
- From the menu bar, select View > Show Utilities View to open the utilities view.
- In the Find tab, type A00001182* and click to search for the High-end GPS system.
- Drag and drop the High-end GPS system, A00001182, onto the Merchandising Associations (Extended Sites Catalog Asset Store)
table in the properties view. Since you created the merchandising association in the Merchandising Associations table for the Extended Sites Catalog Asset Store, all extended sites that inherit from this catalog asset store will see the new merchandising association.
To create a merchandising association that will only exist on this extended site (Sample B2B Store), create the merchandising association in the Merchandising Associations (Sample B2B Store) table.
- In the properties view, click the Association field and select Cross-sell.
- Click Save and Close.
The Offer Price of the MP3 CD Changer now appears as 449.99. A merchandising association between the Vehicle DVD system, A00001267 and the High-end GPS system, A00001182 has now been created.
