Determine the maximum number of connections allowed for the Adapter for WebSphere MQ

To determine the maximum number of ManagedConnections for the JCA-JMS connector

  1. In the WAS Administrative Console navigation tree, expand...

Applications | Application Types | WebSphere enterprise applications | WC_instance | Modules | Manage Modules | Adapter for WebSphere MQ

    The Enablement-JCAJMSConnector.rar page displays.

  2. Click Resource Adapter.

The WC_instance.Adapter for WebSphere MQ page displays, where instance is the name of the WCS instance.

  3. Click J2C Connection Factories.

  4. Click Enablement-JCAJMSConnector.rar.

  5. In the Additional Properties section on the javax.resource.cci.ConnectionFactory page, click Connection Pool Properties.

    The Connection Pools page displays.

  6. Take note of the value in the Max connections field.

This value will be required in Create a WebSphere MQ messaging provider queue connection factory.

  7. Verify the Purge Policy is set to failingConnectionOnly.

If you change the value of the maximum number of this connection pool for the Adapter for WebSphere MQ later, also change the value of the maximum number of connections defined for JMSQueueConnectionFactory under Queue connection factories.
