Install the Configuration Manager client on a Windows PC
Overview
Install the Remote WebSphere Commerce Management utilities to enable the Configuration Manager client.
Install requires 150 MB of free space.
Procedure
- Start the WebSphere Commerce launch pad.
setup.exeLaunch pad start might take up to 3 minutes.
To disable operating system checking checking, from a cmd prompt, run something like...
WC_DVD:\setup.exe -W HardStopAction.disableOSCheck="True"
- The launch pad displays the following options...
- Prerequisites
- Documentation
- Install Product
- Install Product on IBM i
- Support Assistant
- Exit
Click: Install Product
- Select the language and click OK
The Welcome screen is displayed. Click Next.
- Accept the license agreement.
- The Installation prerequisite warning screen may display.
If a memory size warning is reported, click Next to continue.
- Choose Custom Installation and click Next.
A warning message may display indicating that a previous version of WebSphere Commerce is installed. Click Yes to proceed with the installation. Click No to cancel.
- Select...
Remote WebSphere Commerce Management Utilities...and click Next.
- A new directory can be specified, and the installation wizard will create that directory for you.
Configuration Manager Client code directory is denoted by...
WC_rmtMgt_installdir
- To create a WebSphere Commerce response file based on the custom install options, select the check box...
Create a response file...and specify a filename and location.
- Confirm the installation choices and click Next.
The installation starts.
To modify the choices, click Back.
- Insert the WebSphere Application Server DVDs as prompted and, if required, enter the location of the DVDs.
- On the Installation Complete panel, click Finish.
The installation is complete and the wizard closes.
- Verify the Remote WebSphere Commerce Management Utilities installed properly on the Windows machine, refer to the following log file:
WC_rmtMgt_installdir/logs/install.log
WC_rmtMgt_installdir/logs/wctrace_timestamp.log
