Install WebSphere Commerce using the custom installation
Execute a custom installation, when ...
- Execute a distributed installation of commerce and its software stack components
- Use software already installed as part of the commerce software stack
- Use a remote database server
- Use an existing installation of DB2 Database as the commerce database.
commerce supports preinstalled DB2 Database Express, or DB2 Database Enterprise.
- Use Oracle database as the commerce database server
To use a 64-bit Oracle server (local or remote) on 64-bit Windows:
- Install a local 32–bit Oracle client
- Ensure the 32–bit oracle client can connect to the 64–bit Oracle server.
- Verify the Oracle server JVM is 32–bit.
- Use a remote Web server.
- Use Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) as the commerce Web server
- Use an existing installation of IBM HTTP Server 7.0 as the commerce Web server.
- Use a version of IBM HTTP Server other than v7 as the commerce Web server
- Use Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) v6.0 or v7.0 as the commerce Web server
- Use Sun Java System Web Server 7.0 Update 4 as the commerce Web server
- Use an existing installation of WAS as the application server.
To use an existing installation of WAS v7.0.0.0 - 7.0.0.3, use the WAS DVD provided with commerce to update the fixes on the WAS (and upgrade to 7.0.0.3).
A custom installation does not create the commerce instance automatically. Create the instance after installing commerce.
