Remove the fix pack from an instance interactively
Before removing a fix pack, remove the fix pack from any WCS instances that were updated to the fix pack level.
Before you begin
Identify the WCS instance that the fix pack will be removed from. If you have created the instance after applying the fix pack, you cannot uninstall the fix pack from that instance.Complete the following steps to remove the fix pack from the WCS instance.
Procedure
- Ensure that you are logged in with a user ID that is a member of the Windows Administration group.
- Log in as the root user. Use one of the following methods:
- Sign on with the root user.
- If you are already signed onto the system, issue the command su - root. Do not use the command su root. This command does not load the root user's profile and environment which are required for fix pack installation.
- Verify the WebSphere Commerce administrative server is started. For example:
- If WebSphere Commerce is managed by WebSphere Application Server Deployment Manager (dmgr), start the deployment manager and all node agents. Optionally, the cluster can also be started.
- If WebSphere Commerce is not managed by WebSphere Application Server Deployment Manager (dmgr), start the WebSphere Application Server server1.
During the removal of maintenance from the WCS instance, the Update Installer stops the WebSphere Commerce application automatically.
- Use the command line, navigate to the UPDI_installdir directory and type the following command:
- ./update.sh
- update.bat
- The WebSphere Commerce Update Installer wizard is launched. Complete the following steps:
- On the Welcome panel, review the information and click Next to continue.
- On the Product Selection panel ensure that the directory name is correct. This is the WebSphere Commerce installation directory.
- Click Next to accept the WebSphere Commerce product found on the computer.
- When prompted, specify the WCS instance that to remove the fix pack from.
- If you are uninstalling from a WebSphere Commerce Payments instance, a panel is displayed asking if you have WebSphere Application Server security enabled. Complete the required fields and click OK.
- Select Uninstall Maintenance package. Click Next.
- Select the appropriate fix pack file and click Next.
- You are prompted to export the WebSphere Commerce enterprise application you have selected. Click OK to start the exporting. This action will take several minutes.
- On the Summary page review the information and click Next to begin the uninstall process.
- When the uninstall completes, ensure the installer displays the message: Success:The following maintenance package was uninstalled. Review the information and click Relaunch to start the Update Installer wizard again or Finish to close the Update Installer. If you do not see a success message, the installer indicates which log files to check.
- Check the log files for errors. The log files are located in directory: WC_INSTALL/logs/update/actions/uninstall.
- Complete one of the following steps:
- If you have a WCS instance, restart the WebSphere Commerce application.
- If you have a WebSphere Commerce Payments instance with no security enabled, restart the WebSphere Commerce Payments application.
- If you have a WebSphere Commerce Payments instance with security enabled...
- Log in as the non-root user.
- Navigate to directory WC_INSTALL/payments/bin.
- Run the following command:
- ./IBMPayServer payments_instance payment_password
- IBMPayServer payments_instance payment_password
What to do next
If you have applied the fix pack to multiple WebSphere Commerce or WebSphere Commerce Payments instances, repeat this process for each instance.
