Troubleshoot: Fix pack install fails during prerequisite check
During the install of a fix pack, the install fails quickly with a INSTCONFFAILED message.
Problem
The install of a fix pack fails with a INSTCONFFAILED message. The log file has an error similar to the following message:
CWUPI0022E: Unable to locate the correct version of IBM Update Installer for WebSphere Software. Looking for version >=6.1.0.6
Solution
This message indicates a higher level of the Update Installer is required to install the fix pack successfully.
To check the current level of the installed Update Installer, view the following file:
- UPDI_installdir/properties/version/UPDI.product
Check the version line. If the version is lower than what the error message indicates, you need to download and install the latest WebSphere Commerce Update Installer. Refer to the WebSphere Commerce Update Installer technote.
