Database considerations when creating WCS instances
As a part of the WCS instance creation process the Configuration Manager creates the WCS instance database for you automatically. You can choose to create a new database or use existing database.
If you wish to use an existing database, create an empty database manually before you begin to create WCS instance. To manually create a WebSphere Commerce database, use the information contained in this section as a reference.
- DB2 considerations
You can create the database manually before creating an instance, and use the database when creating a new instance.
- Oracle database considerations
As a part of the WCS instance creation process the Configuration Manager creates an Oracle user (schema) for the WebSphere Commerce instance with specific privileges and configuration. You can create the own user manually, using the considerations in this file.
