Install the WebSphere Commerce sample portlet application on the WebSphere Portal server
Installing the WebSphere Commerce sample portal application installs the WAR file provided by WebSphere Commerce to the WebSphere Portal server.About this taskPrevious step
- You have configured one of the following authentication types on your WebSphere Commerce machine:
- Configure basic authentication for WebSphere Commerce
- Configuring simulated single sign-on for WebSphere Commerce
Procedure
To install the WebSphere Commerce sample portlet application on the WebSphere Portal server...
- Copy the MVCPortlet.war file from the WebSphere Commerce machine, to a temporary directory on the machine that you use to access the WebSphere Portal administration console. The default location of the MVCPortlet.war file is:
- WC_installdir/components/wcportal/MVCPortlet/MVCPortlet.war
- WCDE_installdir/components/wcportal/MVCPortlet/MVCPortlet.war
- Open the WebSphere Portal administration console. For information on the WebSphere Portal administration console, refer to Start and stopping WAS and WebSphere Portal.
- Click Portlet Management > Web Modules.
- Select Install and enter the location of the MVCPortlet.war file or click Browse to find the location of the file to install.
- Click Next and verify WAR file info and click Finish to install the WAR file.
- If you install the WebSphere Commerce sample portlet application into a WebSphere Portal cluster, the deployed portlets must be activated before they can be used. To activate the portlets...
- Open the WebSphere Portal administration console. For information on the WebSphere Portal administration console, refer to Start and stopping WAS and WebSphere Portal.
- Click Portlet Management > Web Modules, and select File name starts with as the Search by option.
- Type the name of the WAR file that you have installed. For example, MVCPortlet.
- Click the Activate button beside the MVCPortlet.war file. After the activation is complete, you will not see "Stopped" in the status column.
