Operations Manager information roadmap

In WebSphere Commerce an Operations Manager is a defined role that manages order processing, ensuring that orders are properly fulfilled, payment is received, and orders are shipped. The Operations Manager can search for customer orders, view details, manage order information, and create and edit returns. The Operations Manager can also perform all tasks assigned to the following user roles: Receiver, Returns Administrator, and Pick Packer.

The Operations Manager uses the WebSphere Commerce Accelerator to perform these tasks:

 

Store information

• Change shipping preferences for the store

• Change tax settings for the store

• Change payment settings for a store

• Create, change, and delete fulfillment centers

• Create, change, and delete return reasons

• Configure periodic reports

• Create, change, and delete inventory adjustment codes

 

Customer service

• Manage customers

  • Add a new customer

  • Find, list, and change customer registration information

  • Reset customer logon passwords

• Customer care

  • Provide real-time customer support using a Lotus Sametime synchronous chat applet

  • Create, change, and delete customer care queues for managing real-time customer support

• Participate in asynchronous collaborative business discussions in the form of workspaces using Lotus QuickPlace

 

Business intelligence

• Request and view business intelligence reports. Many of the business reports are generated by WebSphere Commerce Analyzer.

 

Order management

• Manage orders

  • Find, list, change, cancel, split, and add comments to orders

  • Place, change, and cancel orders for customers

  • View a customer's order history

  • View a summary of each order

• Work with order management reports

  • Run operational reports

• Manage returns

  • Find and list returns

  • Create, change, and add comments to returns

  • View a summary of each return

• Manage inventory

  • List pick batches and releases

  • List expected inventory records

  • Find and list inventory

  • Track inventory and shipments

  • Run inventory reports

• Manage payment

  • Access WebSphere Commerce Payments

  • Approve, deposit, settle, find payment and find payment batches

 

Merchandise management

• Manage auctions

  • List and find auction bids for a customer

  • Monitor and respond to any active auction forums
