Tutorial: Creating RFQs
Your national hardware group has decided to include expansion onto the Internet as part of its strategic plan to expand its customer base. WebSphere Commerce will be the basis for this endeavor. You will be using advanced B2B starter store (B2BAdvancedStore) to create a pilot version of your online store to serve as the basis for your operational store.
The RFQ trading mechanism is inoperative unless explicitly enabled by the site administrator. Many of these tasks may have been completed by your IT staff. Descriptions are provided to give you an overview of the entire process. The organization type and the role of the user responsible for the task is shown (organization: role) in parentheses. Making RFQs functional requires several preparatory steps:
- Enabling the RFQ trading mechanism (seller: site administrator)
- Enabling RFQ notification messaging (seller: site administrator)
- Create users with the Seller role
- Deciding if response approval is to be functional (seller: site administrator)
- Ensure that WebSphere Commerce Payments has been set up
Once you have completed the prerequisites, you can proceed with the RFQ tutorial:
- Create a new RFQ request (buyer: buyer (buy-side))
- Submitting and viewing a new RFQ request (buyer)
- Create a new response to an RFQ request (seller)
- Submitting and viewing a new RFQ response (seller)
- Closing an RFQ request (buyer)
- Evaluating responses (buyer: buyer (buy-side))
- Selecting an RFQ winner (buyer)
- Completing an RFQ request (buyer)
