Troubleshoot: error message in application tier migration log

 

Problem

While migrating your WebSphere Commerce Payments instance, you receive the following error message in the application tier migration log:

[2004.02.17 11:49:06] Error: Can't create new Payments instance

[2004.02.17 11:49:06] Error: PM_DB_CONN_URL_ERROR

 

Solution

The WebSphere Commerce Payments application tier migration requires a connection to the Payments database. Ensure that the following steps are complete

  1. The Payments database server has been started.

  2. (Linux)(Windows) The Payments database user and password are the same as the user and password for the previous Payments database.

  3. If you are performing a switchover or coexistence mode migration, back up the previous Payments database and then restore it to your WebSphere Commerce, v6 database server.
