Work with SKUs
The Product Manager is responsible for determining the best way to display, price, and sell products in the online store.
- Product-level SKUs
Once you have created your product, create SKUs to represent each orderable item of merchandise for sale. All SKUs related to a particular product exhibit the same set of attributes and are distinguished by their defining attribute values. For example, men's shirts could have the attribute of color and size, and each SKU would have it's own color and size, such as men's small red shirt.- Category-level SKUs
You can create SKUs under a category that are not associated with any product. This would be the case for items that have no defining attributes. For example, if you are selling a DVD, you do not need the association to a product in the same way you might with a man's dress shirt.- Create SKUs
You can create category-level SKUs, or if you have products, you can create product-level SKUs for that product. Creating SKUs enables you to sell the item in your store.- Change SKUs
You might want to change a SKU if there has been a change to the product that a manufacturer has sold to you.- Deleting SKUs
When you delete a SKU, all associated attribute values for that SKU are also deleted. If there is a pending transaction against a product SKU marked for deletion, the SKU is not deleted from the system until the pending transaction has been resolved.- View associated assets
You can view assets that are associated with a sales catalog, category, or catalog entry in the Catalogs tool.- View attachment details
You can view existing attachments that are associated with a sales catalog, category, or catalog entry and the list of files or URLs it contains, all within the Catalogs tool.- Finding and associating assets
You can find and associate assets such as files, URLs or existing attachments to categories, sales catalogs, and catalog entries, all within the Catalogs tool. This enables you to complete activities without switching tools.- Deleting associated assets
You can delete associated assets from sales catalogs, categories, and catalog entries in the Catalogs tool.
