Tasks tool
The Management Center introduces a new tool that helps you manage your tasks within a workspace. The tool enables users to work on tasks, complete tasks, and submit tasks for approval, all within the context of a workspace. That is, easy movement from the Tasks tool to the other Management Center tools. The Tasks tool works within the context of a workspace. A workspace is an access-controlled work area where you can make and preview changes to managed assets, without affecting what is currently running on your site. Working in the context of a workspace is similar to having your own private copy of the managed assets. You can make changes and preview changes without affecting managed assets outside the workspace. Once you are happy with the changes you have made in a workspace, you can commit the changes to the production database, and begin to see the effects on your site.
Use the Tasks tool to:
- View tasks that have been assigned to you.
- Contribute content to tasks.
- Complete tasks.
- Submit completed tasks for approval.
- Approve and reject task groups.
- View approved tasks.
The Tasks tool provides the following views:
Task list view
The task list view displays the tasks that are in either the To Do, Completed, Approved, or Canceled state. You can view the tasks and perform actions on the listed tasks using either the toolbar, the menu, or the context menu.

Banner view
Once you have selected a task to work on, the banner view displays the current task you are working on, and the name of the workspace the task belongs to. This is also displayed in the Management Center tool where you are contributing the content.

Store preview view
If you have completed a task, you can click the store preview icon
in the toolbar, to preview the changes you have made before committing them to the production database.
Approved content view
If you have workspaces enabled, but want to work on content outside of a workspace, you can select the Work on Approved Content option in the Management Center. Any changes you make are made to the production-ready database, and eventually propagated to the production database.

- Use workspaces in the Management Center
You can manage content within a workspace in the Management Center by selecting tasks, managing content within a task, and adding comments and approving or rejecting tasks. If you want to manage the workspace itself, such as creating new workspaces or task groups, you can do that in the Workspace Administration Tool.
