Troubleshoot: The installation of WebSphere Commerce fails

While installing WebSphere Commerce a graphical mode error is shown.

 

Problem

The installation of WebSphere Commerce fails with the following message:

The installer is unable to run in graphical mode.  Try running the
installer 
with the -silent flag.

 

Solution

If you encounter this error message, ensure that you are running the installation wizard as the root user. Ensure that you have exported your display and that you have access to your X server. Refer to your operating system documentation for more information.
