Configure a gallery to highlight community files and folders

The Gallery widget allows community owners to showcase files of any type, such as photos, videos, and office files, on the community overview page. When it is configured, the Gallery is renamed with the folder or community name and displays thumbnail images for the files. We can add more than one Gallery widget to the overview page.

Ensure the community contains a gallery widget. See Add widgets to the community.

Configure the Gallery widget to display content from community folders.

We cannot upload files to a community gallery. Instead, you add media files to community folders using the Files application, and then use the community gallery to view these files.

To configure a gallery.

  1. From the Gallery widget on the community Overview page, click Set up the Gallery.

  2. Do one of the following actions:

    • Click All Files to display all the files in the community.

    • Select a folder to display its contents in the gallery.

The folders listed include community folders and folders that are shared with the community.

The Gallery is renamed with the folder or community name and a thumbnail image is displayed for each file. If a thumbnail is not available a file type icon appears. Click any thumbnail to open a preview of the file. A preview is a pop-up dialog that displays a larger thumbnail. In preview, we can navigate to the next and previous files in the gallery.

We can configure more than one gallery in a community. See Add widgets to your community.
