IBM Connections Search
When you perform a search in Connections, the query is analyzed to return the optimum results.
The Search application performs a linguistic analysis to ensure that different word forms, such as plurals, verb endings, and grammatical tenses, are matched correctly in the search results. When we search for the term goose, you might expect to get results containing the term geese. Similarly, when we search for the term run, you might expect to get results that include the terms ran or running.
The more often the search term appears in a document, the higher that content is ranked in the search results. The number of times that a search term appears in Bookmarks also influences its ranking in the search results. Similarly, the number of times that a search term appears in content that has been liked or recommended influences the ranking of the search results.
A document that has a search term in its title or in a tag is ranked higher than a document with a search term in its content only. More recently updated documents containing a search term are ranked higher than older documents.
The type of content that is searched varies from application to application. For example, content from file attachments is searched only in the Activities, Files, and Wikis applications. For more information about what type of content is searched, see the Searchable content.
