Delete gateway instances
Use this task to delete gateway instances using the administrative console.
We can delete a gateway instance using the administrative console as described in this task, or using the deleteWSGWInstance command. When we delete a gateway instance, the following associated resources are also deleted:
- All gateway and proxy services deployed to the gateway instance are deleted.
- All target services deployed to any of the gateway services are deleted.
- All outbound services created when creating any of the gateway services using the administrative console Create a new gateway service wizard are deleted.
The WebSphere Application Server v5.1 gateway used filters for tasks such as logging messages, transforming their contents or terminating an incoming request. When a v5.1 gateway that contained filters was migrated to v6, "StorageQueue" destinations were created to support existing v5.1 gateway filters in the v6 environment. These destinations are not used in v7.0 or later, but they are not removed automatically when you delete the associated gateway. To delete one or more gateway instances using the administrative console, complete the following steps:
Tasks
- Start the administrative console.
- In the navigation pane, click Service integration -> Buses -> bus_name -> [Additional Properties] Web service gateway instances. A list of gateway instances is displayed in a gateway instances collection form.
- Select the check box for every gateway instance to remove.
- Click Delete.
If the processing completes successfully, the list of gateway instances is updated. Otherwise, an error message is displayed.
