Cumulative PTFs for IBM i

WebSphere Application Server requires a minimum cumulative PTF package level for the operating system on the IBM i server. If the correct cumulative PTF package is not installed on the IBM i server, we must install the cumulative PTF before we install WAS.

To install the cumulative PTF, follow your normal PTF installation procedures.

Install the cumulative PTF package requires us to restart the IBM iserver. If it is not convenient to restart the server at the time that we apply the new PTF package, we can load and apply the PTFs and then specify any PTFs that require an IPL be applied at the next normal IPL of the server. However, do not install the WAS product until all of the PTFs have been successfully applied.
