Add to, update, or delete part of an application through programming
We can add to, update, or delete part of an existing application through the administrative console, the wsadmin tool, or programming. This example changes part of an application through programming. You can use this example whether we add to, update, or delete part of an existing application. Multiple changes to an application can be packaged in a single compressed .zip file.

Before we can add to, update, or delete part of an application on WebSphere Application Server, install the application.
Perform the following tasks to add to, update, or delete part of an application through programming.
Tasks
- Connect to WAS.
- Create the application management proxy.
- Create the notification filter.
- Add the listener.
- Partially change the existing application.
- Wait for some timeout so that the program does not end.
- Listen to Java Management Extensions (JMX) notifications to understand completion of the operation.
After you successfully run the code, we have changed the application.
