WAS v8.5 > Monitoring > Monitoring application flow > Get performance data from request metricsEnable and disable logging
This topic describes how to enable and disable logging through the dmgr console.
We can enable and disable logging through the dmgr console to start the generation of request metrics logs in the SystemOut.log file in the following directory:
profile_root/logs/server_name
IBM recommends using the HPEL log and trace infrastructure. With HPEL, one views logs using the LogViewer command-line tool in PROFILE/bin.
- Open the dmgr console.
- Click Monitoring and Tuning > Request Metrics.
- Under Request Metrics Destination, select the Standard Logs check box to enable the logging feature. To disable the logging , clear the Standard Logs check box.
Results
The logging feature is enabled. We can view the generated request metrics logs in the SystemOut.log file.
