Manage resources for Java EE client applications
Manage resources for Java EE application clients using the Application Client Resource Configuration Tool (ACRCT).
Before we can manage resources for a Java EE client application, you must have deployed that application.
After deploying a Java EE client application client, you might want to or need to update the resources configuredd for that client application.
To manage the resources of a Java EE client application deployed on z/OS , we can run the Application Client Resource Configuration Tool (ACRCT) on Windows, according to the following steps, and then reinstall the application on z/OS.
Subtopics
- Update data source and data source provider configurations with the Application Client Resource Configuration Tool
We can update the configuration of an existing data source or data source provider using the Application Client Resource Configuration Tool (ACRCT).
- Update URLs and URL provider configurations for application clients
We can update URLs and URL provider configurations for application clients using the Application Client Resource Configuration Tool (ACRCT).
- Update mail session configurations for application clients
We can update the configuration of an existing JavaMail session using the Application Client Resource Configuration Tool (ACRCT).
- Update Java Message Service provider, connection factories, and destination configurations for application clients
We can update the configuration of an existing Java Message Service (JMS) provider, connection factory or destination using the Application Client Resource Configuration Tool (ACRCT).
- Update WebSphere MQ as a Java Message Service provider, and its JMS resource configurations, for application clients
We can update an existing configuration of WebSphere MQ as a Java Message Service (JMS) provider, and update the configuration of WebSphere MQ connection factories or WebSphere MQ destinations.
- Update resource environment entry and resource environment provider configurations for application clients
We can update the configuration of an existing resource environment entry or resource environment provider using the Application Client Resource Configuration Tool (ACRCT).
- Remove application client resources
We can remove Java EE application client resources using the Application Client Resource Configuration Tool (ACRCT).
- (dist)(zos) clientUpgrade command
Use the clientUpgrade command to migrate previous versions of client resources to v8.5-level resources.
- (iseries) clientUpgrade script
The clientUpgrade script migrates application client modules and their resources in an EAR file so that these application clients can run in WebSphere Application Server v8.5. The script converts an EAR file to migrate and then overwrites the original EAR file with the converted EAR file.
