Uninstall enterprise applications using the console
After an application no longer is needed, you can uninstall it.
This topic assumes that we have installed an enterprise application on a server and to delete the application from the server.
Uninstall an application deletes the application from the product configuration repository and deletes the application binaries from the file system of all nodes where the application modules are installed.
Procedure
- Click Applications > Application Types > WebSphere enterprise applications in the admin console navigation tree to access the Enterprise applications page.
- If retain a copy of the application, back up the application.
- Select the application to uninstall.
- Click Export.
The product exports the application to an enterprise application (.ear) file, preserving the binding information.
- Uninstall the application.
- Select the application to uninstall.
- Click Uninstall.
- On the Uninstall application page, click OK.
- Save changes made to the administrative configuration.
Results
On single-server products, application binaries are deleted after you save the changes.
On multiple-server products, application binaries are deleted when configuration changes on the dmgr synchronize with configurations for individual nodes.
