Test foreign bus connections
After you define a direct foreign bus connection between a service integration bus and either another service integration bus or a WebSphere MQ queue manager, you can test the connection to check that it can be used to exchange messages. To test a foreign bus connection, a service integration bus, known as the local bus, with a direct foreign bus connection to a service integration bus, or a WebSphere MQ queue manager must be defined. You might want to test a foreign bus connection before you send messages that use that connection, or if we have difficulty sending and receiving messages that use that connection. We can test only direct foreign bus connections. We cannot test indirect foreign bus connections, because it might not be possible to reach the target destination bus.
If a connection name list is provided in the WebSphere MQ link sender channel properties, the connections are tried in the order in which they are specified in the connection list until a connection is successful. If no connection is successful an error message is logged.
Procedure
- In the navigation pane, click Service integration -> Buses .
- In the Buses pane, click the bus that has the connection to test.
- In the configuration tab, under Topology, click Foreign bus connections. A list of foreign bus connections is displayed.
- Select the check box for the connection to test.
- Click Test Connection. A message is displayed at the top of the pane that shows the result of the test.
