Command format
The virtual member manager commands follow a consistent format.
The syntax for the commands is:
commandName { -paramName paramvalue [-paramName paramvalue] }The parameter and syntax elements include:
commandName
The name of the command.
{ }
Required braces around the parameters for Jacl scripting and align with the Jacl syntax.
{ {} }
Braces within the required braces indicate that a choice must be made from among the parameters within the braces.
paramName
The name of a parameter.
paramvalue
The value of the parameter. If the value specified has spaces, for example, my value, the value must be enclosed in quotation marks, "my value".
[ ]
Brackets indicate that the enclosed parameter is optional. (Non-bracketed parameters are required.)
*
The asterisk is a wildcard that can be used in searches. A search filter IBM* returns all items that start with IBM. A search filter *IBM returns all items that end in IBM. A search filter *IBM* returns all items that contain the string IBM. Each command includes help information, which describes the purpose and usage of the command. Help messages describe the usage and purpose of the command.
To view the help issue the following command in wsadmin:
$AdminTask help <commandName>
