Uninstall the Update Installer for WebSphere Software
The Update Installer for WebSphere Software has a new installation and uninstallation program for V7.0, Installation Wizard for the Update Installer.
Only one copy of the Update Installer should be installed on the system at any one time for use with all Version 7.0 products.
The Update Installer uses the Common Install Engine for WebSphere Software. Part of the Common Installer is the uninstaller program that is generated when ISMP installs the Update Installer. This procedure explains how to use the uninstaller program for the Update Installer.
- Change to the Update_Installer_root/UpdateInstaller/uninstall directory.
- Issue the uninstall or uninstall -silent command.
Linux Red Hat, Linux zSeries, and Solaris users: if we select the documentation links in the uninstallation program for the Update Installer, the Web browser might not launch. The path to the Web browser is not included in the PATH environment variable. To resolve this problem, we can add the Web browser path to the PATH environment variable, and rerun the uninstallation program.
