Backing up and restoring the UDDI registry database
To protect the data in the UDDI registry database, we can back up and restore the database using the facilities of the database product that the UDDI node is on.
- To back up a Apache Derby UDDI registry database, first ensure that the UDDI application is stopped (and hence, not accessing the Apache Derby database), and ensure that no other application is using the Apache Derby UDDI30 database. Make a copy of the UDDI30 directory using the file system that the directory resides upon. To restore the database, replace the UDDI30 file structure with the back up. Note that any updates made since the back up was taken will be lost.
- To back up a non-Apache Derby UDDI registry database, use the appropriate backup and restore tools for the database. To use these tools, refer to the documentation for the database product.
