Monitor the database tier
To prevent bottlenecks, WebSphere® Virtual Enterprise has several tools that provide the information necessary to monitor the database tier. Use the following list of monitoring tools and links to configure WebSphere Virtual Enterprise to fit your needs.

Before a bottleneck occurs, WebSphere Virtual Enterprise can help you anticipate potential problems and adjust the system accordingly. Customize your system using the following information.
Procedure
- Enable historic logging of statistical information in the environment.

- Evaluate historical information by using the data exporter to filter out historical logs or parse logs directly.

- View CPU utilization at the database node level, and view average response time and throughput at the database server level.
