First steps console


The First steps console is a post-installation ease-of-use tool that directs product elements from one place to another. Options display dynamically on the first steps console, depending on the features that you install and the availability of certain elements of a particular operating system.

 

First steps options

Use the Profile Management tool to get started defining a cell, a deployment manager, and application servers for the cell. A cell consists of a deployment manager profile and a federated application server profile. You can also define stand-alone application servers. Each profile has its own First steps console. Options include verifying the installation, starting the deployment manager and application server processes, creating profiles, accessing the administrative console, launching the Migration wizard, and accessing the online information center.

A prompt to launch the First steps console displays on the last panel of the Profile Management tool, or you can also choose to start the First steps console later from the command line. Launch the First steps console from the following location:

In addition to launching the First steps console from the WebSphere® Extended Deployment Profile wizard, you can launch the tool manually by issuing the following commands:
