If you plan to use database software other than IBM Cloudscapeâ„¢, install it separately from IBM WebSphere Portal. After the database software is installed, some additional procedures must be performed on the database server before we can perform WebSphere Portal database transfer.
Before you begin
- You should have completed reviewing the database Planning for databases section appropriate for the database.
Refer to the following sections for additional information about installing specific databases: Important tips:
- We can use database software that is local or remote to the WebSphere Portal machine.
- If you uninstall WebSphere Portal, we cannot reuse the WebSphere Portal and Member Manager databases when you reinstall WebSphere Portal. You must remove the original databases from the server and create the databases again before reinstalling WebSphere Portal.
