Install on Windows and UNIX
IBM WebSphere Portal is the base component of the portal environment. We can install WebSphere Portal as a single component, complete with its own integrated IBM Cloudscape database for storing information. This enables you to get WebSphere Portal up and running .
If you are only interested in the basic functionality provided by WebSphere Portal, we can immediately begin building and working with it. However, if you require additional functionality, such as LDAP-based authentication or collaboration functionality, we can add these components as we need them and expand the WebSphere Portal environment as or as slowly as you choose.
- Review Planning for WebSphere Portal to learn about the using existing software. Some features that are provided with WebSphere Portal, such as collaboration services, require additional components to be installed.
- Make necessary changes to the operating system.
- Choose an installation source
- Choose the type of installation you want to perform and follow the instructions provided
- Install Critically important WebSphere Portal 6.0.1 and 6.0.1.1 fixes for Workplace Web Content Manager users
- Verify and launch WebSphere Portal
- Troubleshoot if necessary
