Migrate a primary Web content system
These tasks provide detailed information used to migrate a Web Content Management primary system. This would normally be an authoring system. If you have decentralized authoring systems, aggregate all you current data onto a single system using syndication and then migrate the data from this system. Primary migration will migrate data, rendering portlets and user profile information.
- Install the Web content migration tool
Before migrating a Web content system, install the Web content migration tool.
- Migrate Web content data
When migrating a primary system, first migrate the old Web content data from a single Web content system. This would normally be an authoring system. If you have decentralized authoring systems, aggregate all the current data onto a single system using syndication and then migrate the data from this system.
- Migrate user profiles
After migrating the primary data update the portal users to use the migrated data.
- Migrate a local rendering portlet
After migrating the primary data re-configure all local rendering portlets to use the migrated data.
- Migrate a remote rendering portlet
After migrating the primary data re-configure all remote rendering portlets to use the migrated data.
