Set up the sample application

 

Install the sample application on a server to see the application from a user's point of view. Follow these steps to deploy and run the sample application, which includes annotations, alerts, and a team calendar.

  1. Create and deploy a WebSphere Portlet Factory project named Dashboard Sample Application.

    Include the following feature sets in the project:

    Integration Extensions

    • Excel Extension

    • Lotus Collaboration Extension

      Select this feature set to take advantage of Domino People Awareness or Sametime functionality.

    WebSphere Dashboard Framework

    • Alerts Module

    • Dashboard Framework

    • GreenPoint Web Chart Builder

    • Sample Application

      These packages contain the models, profile sets, HTML pages, and XMLAccess scripts specific to the sample application.

  2. Create a project for the Alerts Scheduler feature set.

  3. (Optional) Set up a Cloudscape or DB2 database to store portlet data.

  4. Run scripts to launch the sample application portlets.
