Set up alerts

 

This topic lists the steps we need to take to set up alerts for a project. Setting up the sample application automatically sets up alerts for the project. Follow these steps to configure alerts for a project of your own.

  1. Create and deploy a WebSphere Portlet Factory project.

    The following feature sets must be among those you select for the project: Dojo Ajax

    • Dojo Extension

    WebSphere Dashboard Framework

    • Alerts Module

    • Dashboard Framework

    To learn about alerts and explore samples, you may also want to include the Alerts Module Examples feature set.

  2. Create a project for the Alerts Scheduler feature set.

  3. Select and configure a persistence manager.

  4. If you selected a database persistence manager, set up the database.

  5. Override default configuration properties.

  6. Configure notifications and logging for alerts.

  7. Configure pages to launch as portlets on the server.

  8. Create alert definitions using the Manage Alerts portlet.

  9. Test your configuration settings.
