Web Content Management Items
IWWCM uses a set of items to build a site and to build the web pages within the site. The order in which these items are created and managed is up to you. However, all these items, and the relationships between them, must exist before a web page can be viewed and a site generated.
Item Description Site
- Group a set of Site Areas.
- Set global relationships between Presentation Templates and Authoring Templates (and therefore, Content).
- Store global Components.
Site Area
- Define the framework of a Site by grouping Content and other Site Areas.
- Define links between Presentation Templates and Authoring Templates (and therefore, Content) within a Site Area.
- Store Site Area specific Components.
Presentation Template Determine the design of a Web Page including:
- The layout of Components displayed within a Web Page.
- The default properties of a Web Page (background, font etcetera.).
Component Stored in the Component Library, or the form part of Site, Site Area, and Content items.
- Store content that can then be referenced in another IWWCM item (e.g., Text Component, Image Component).
- Generate content based on selected parameters (e.g., Menus, Navigators).
Authoring Template Used to store a set of default values to be used when creating new Content including:
- ID information (owner, author)
- Contents (Components)
- Workflow
- Profiling
- Security
- Components
Content Content items store values that can be referenced in other IWWCM Items including:
- ID information (owner, author).
- Profiling (Categories).
- Contents (Components).
Workflow and Security parameters are also stored in Content items.
Category Used to categorize other Web Content Management Items. Can be used to generate Menu Components and User Category Selection Trees. Taxonomy Categories are grouped within Taxonomies. In addition to these items, the IWWCM application uses the following items to control workflow:
Workflow Determines the steps taken in the verification and eventual approval of IWWCM items and is made up of Workflow Stages Workflow Stage Determines User access to IWWCM items at each stage in a Workflow.
