Configure transports

You configure transports to specify:

  • How to manage a set of connections. For example, to specify the number of concurrent requests to allow.

  • Whether to secure the connections with SSL

  • Host and IP information for the transport participants

  1. Create an HTTP transport.

    1. Ensure that virtual host aliases include port values for the new transport.

    2. Go to the HTTP Transports page and click New.

    3. On the settings page for an HTTP transport, specify values such as the transport's host name and port number, then click OK.

  2. (Optional)

Change the configuration for an existing transport.

    1. Ensure that virtual host aliases include port values for the transport your are changing.

    2. Go to the HTTP Transports page and click on the transport under Host whose configuration you want to change.

    3. On the settings page for an HTTP transport, which might have the page title DefaultSSLSet, change the specified values as needed, then click OK.

  3. Regenerate the WebSphere plug-in for the Web server.

What to do next

If the Web server is located on a machine remote from the application server, you might also need to perform special configuration tasks to redirect application requests from the Web server machine to the appserver machine.
