Viewing portlets in Portal Designer

Portal Designer displays the initial pages of your portlets within your portal pages.

The default page for basic portlets in Portal Designer is specified automatically if the basic portlet is generated by the portlet wizard. To change the default page to another page, specify this in the portlet's properties page:

  1. In the Project Explorer, find your basic portlet project and expand its nodes to reveal the

[portletProjectName] | Portlet Deployment Descriptor | [portletName].

  2. Right-click on the portlet name and choose

    Properties.

  3. In the Properties page, select the JSP page that you want to be the default. Click OK.

Note: Portal Designer will not render the default page of WSRP remote portlets.

To view your complete portal site, including portlet interfaces, run your project on the appropriate WebSphere® Portal test environment, or WebSphere Portal server.
