Setting frame attributes
You can set frame attributes for your Web pages. By dragging the boundary between the frames, you can easily change the size ratio of the frames.
You can also specify the frameset size (in pixels). Then the size of a frame is fixed regardless of the size of the Web browser window.
To specify the size ratio of the frames:
- Drag the frame boundary to the left.
- Release the mouse button. The size ratio of the frames is changed.
By default, the frame size is specified as a ratio (%). The actual size is then determined by the size of the Web browser window in which the frame is viewed. You can specify either the size ratio or the pixel value.
- If you have split a Web browser window into two sections that are aligned side by side, you can specify the size of the left frame in pixels and allocate the remaining area to the right frame:
- Click the page that contains the frames.
- Select
Frame | Frame Attributes.
- To specify the size of the left frame, select the first row in the
Size-cols field, select pixels from the
Unit list, and type a pixel value (for example, 200) in the
Value column.
- To specify the size of the right frame, select the second row in the
Size-cols field, and select the asterisk (*) from the
Unit list.
- Click OK. The left frame is fixed at 200 pixels, and the remaining area is allocated to the right frame.
