Saving new frame pages
A new frame in the Web page has a temporary file name, such as
newpage1.htm. You can give the new frame files permanent file names.
To specify a permanent file name for the newly created frames that are split vertically:
- Click the page in the right frame to select it.
- Click
File | Save Frame | Save Active Frame.
Note: You can also use
Save on the pop-up menu for the frame page; however, this choice will save both the unsaved frameset page and the unsaved active frame page. (The Save Active Frame choice does not save the unsaved frameset page).
- Type over the temporary file name with a new one. For example, type toppage.htm.
- Click OK.
The page in the right frame now has a permanent file name, toppage.htm, and this file name is shown on the title bar.
- Click the page in the left frame.
- Click
File | Save Frame | Save Active Frame.
Note: You can perform the same operation by selecting
Save from the frame page's pop-up menu.
- Type the file name. For example, type toc.htm, for a page that will be the table of contents.
- Click OK.
The page in the left frame now has a permanent file name, toc.htm, and this file name is shown on the title bar.
