Saving new frame pages

A new frame in the Web page has a temporary file name, such as

newpage1.htm. You can give the new frame files permanent file names.

To specify a permanent file name for the newly created frames that are split vertically:

  1. Click the page in the right frame to select it.

  2. Click

File | Save Frame | Save Active Frame.

    Note: You can also use

Save on the pop-up menu for the frame page; however, this choice will save both the unsaved frameset page and the unsaved active frame page. (The Save Active Frame choice does not save the unsaved frameset page).

  3. Type over the temporary file name with a new one. For example, type toppage.htm.

  4. Click OK.

The page in the right frame now has a permanent file name, toppage.htm, and this file name is shown on the title bar.

  5. Click the page in the left frame.

  6. Click

File | Save Frame | Save Active Frame.

Note: You can perform the same operation by selecting

Save from the frame page's pop-up menu.

  7. Type the file name. For example, type toc.htm, for a page that will be the table of contents.

  8. Click OK.

The page in the left frame now has a permanent file name, toc.htm, and this file name is shown on the title bar.
