Inserting special characters
You can insert special characters in your Web pages, either in the Design page or in the Source page of Page Designer.
To insert a special character that is not on your keyboard, such as a registered trademark or a copyright symbol, complete the following steps:
- Move the cursor to the position where you want to insert a special character.
- Select
Insert | Special Characters to open the Insert Special Characters dialog box.
- Click the special character you want to insert.
The dialog box includes all non-ASCII Latin 1 characters, the Euro symbol, and characters that have special meaning in HTML and XML files and thus must be escaped. The button on the upper left of the Insert Special Characters dialog box represents a no-break space. When an HTML or XML file is displayed, the software typically breaks lines at spaces to fit the display window. However, the printable text on either side of a no-break space is kept together with the no-break space in the display. You can also insert a no-break space by typing Ctrl+Space.
