Configuring Web servers to run Web services
The supported Web servers that you want to deploy Web services to must be configured before you can deploy Web services.
If you are deploying Web services to a WebSphere® Application Server Community Edition server or a Tomcat server, the necessary JDBC drivers for DB2® and Informix® Dynamic Server are installed automatically on the target Web server when you use the
Register database connection with Web server option in the Deploy Web Service wizard. And if you are using pureQuery, when you select the option, the necessary pureQuery JAR files are copied to the target Web server automatically.
- Configuring WAS, Version 6 and Version 7 servers
Configuring a WAS, Version 6 (all releases) or Version 7 (all releases) type of Web server involves enabling DB2 for DRDA® communication, if you are using a DB2 database, and optionally creating a JDBC provider and a data source. You can request the workbench to create the JDBC provider and data source for you.
