Installing IBM MQ Version 9.2 using the launchpad
Use the installation launchpad and wizards to install IBM MQ Version 9.2 alongside Version 9.1 on Windows.
Before starting
Before completing this task, complete the following checks:- We must have local administrator authority when we are installing. Define this authority through the Windows facilities.
- Ensure that the machine name does not contain any spaces.
- Ensure that we have sufficient disk space, up to 1005 MB, to fully install IBM MQ for Windows.
- Determine whether we need to define Windows domain user ID's for any IBM MQ users.
Before you install IBM MQ, check that the system meets the hardware and software requirements. For the latest details of hardware and software requirements on all supported platforms, see System Requirements for IBM MQ.
About this task
This task describes the basic steps for installing IBM MQ on Windows if we do not already have it installed on the system.
This task assumes that we will be using the default IBM MQ program and data files locations. By default, the IBM MQ Version 9.2 location of program files on Windows is C:\Program Files\IBM\MQ, and the data and log file location is C:\ProgramData\IBM\MQ.
Note: If we are installing IBM MQ Version 9.2, and you have any previous installations of IBM MQ on your machine, the location of the program and data files might be different from the default. For further information, see Program and data directory locations. The installation programs contain links to further information if you require it during the installation process.
