Configure dynamic feeds for the Outlook Social Connector

Configure the IBM Connections Profiles server to support dynamic feeds to bring data from Connections to the outlook client via the Microsoft™ Outlook Social Connector.

The Outlook Social Connector (OSC) provider for IBM Connections supports displaying user activity feeds even when a contact does not belong to a person's network. The OSC architecture uses hashed email addresses (MD5 or SHA1) to search for activity feeds for users that are not in a person's network. To support this feature the Profiles server schema must be extended and populated with additional data. The schema must be augmented with an new extended attribute, hashEmail, and for each user in the directory the extended attribute must be populated with a hash of the user's email address. This section describes the necessary steps to accomplish this.
